Families and people of all ages can learn to play guitar and learn about Mexican culture with a professional musician from Sones de México Ensemble. Parents and siblings are encouraged to sign up and bond with their children by learning the music and culture of Mexico together. In-person classes are on Saturdays at Holy Trinity Croatian Roman Catholic Church, located in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, and on the north side at Centro Romero. We follow all COVID-19 safety precautions. The course consists of one-hour group lessons. Online classes are Sunday mornings on Zoom. Students will be sent a link to join the class. The classes are in Spanish and the repertoire is based on Mexican folk music. The musical training and theory students receive is applicable to any style of music. Sones de Mexico will provide an instruction book to every student. Students must bring their own guitar. Sones approved guitars are available for purchase from us.
