Buzzing About Bees at Nature Museum

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local NewsHoneybees have been mysteriously disappearing across the planet, literally vanishing from their hives; while at the same time, urban beekeeping is on the rise. As the urban gateway to nature and science, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Dr., is proud to partner with Slow Food Chicago to present Little Bee Big Mystery, a new four-part series intended to inform participants about bee hive structure, beekeeping and what they can do to ensure the stability of our bee population. On Tuesday, August 16, part-one of the series will feature a screening of Vanishing of the Bees, a 90-minute documentary narrated by Ellen Page that examines the alarming disappearance of honeybees and the greater meaning it holds about the relationship between mankind and mother earth. Admission is free. To RSVP, email adultprograms@naturemuseum.org.
