Dear Editor,

As your state representative, my top priority remains putting Illinois
back to work by helping to create good paying, sustainable jobs and helping
struggling families stay afloat.

Illinois, like many states, was affected by the struggling economy. Now, as
we work together to rebuild and strengthen our economy, it is important
that we help those hard working families who are struggling stay afloat. This
is why last fall, I helped pass the Earned Income Tax Credit. This
legislation provides working families with much needed tax relief that
allows them to keep more of their money in their pockets. Illinois has
shown some progress in job creation but this is just the start. I will
continue to fight for strict laws that require any company that leaves
Illinois to return any and all tax breaks they may have received.
We cannot continue to ignore our working class while companies who have
received tax breaks leave Illinois. Now is the time to end practices like
this and help put our citizens back to work.
