Katherine Swanson Retires After 45 Years at Community Savings Bank

Katherine Swanson has retired after 45 years with Community Savings Bank.

Katherine Swanson retired from Community Savings Bank in June after nearly
45 years on the bank’s staff. She had been one of Community’s longest serving employees. Swanson grew up in the Cicero Belmont neighborhood and was a customer of the bank as a child. She started working at Community while a student at Foreman High School and became a full time employee after graduation. Swanson began her career as a teller. Over the years she worked in the new accounts department and in the real estate tax area of the bank’s loan department. Mrs. Swanson also served on the bank’s Boar – Management CRA since the early 1990s.

Most recently Swanson served as Assistant Vice President of Community. She was responsible for many lending compliance matters which are required by Federal consumer protection laws. At her retirement, Swanson was the supervisor of the loan department staff and served on the bank’s management supervisory committee. She was also responsible for tracking loan payments from borrowers and handling collection matters when such activities were necessary.
