Sisters of St. Casimir Transfer Mission to Sinai Health System

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - BusinessThe Sisters of St. Casimir held a ceremony wherein they transferred the mission of Holy Cross Hospital to Sinai Health System.  Like the communities Holy Cross and Sinai serve, the ceremony included a diversity of races, ethnicities and faiths coming together to acknowledge the importance of quality healthcare for the communities of west and southwest Chicago.

For example, a Latino community leader spoke of how important it is to be able to receive good care close to home.  The southwest district supervisor of CeaseFire initiated the symbolic lighting of candles and a member of the Innercity Muslim Action Network participated in the blessing.  In his remarks, United States Senator Richard Durbin described the merging of Holy Cross Hospital with Sinai Health System in terms of caring for people and communities, saying he expected to see great things come from it.
