“How Do I know if My Child is Using Drugs?”

The City of Berwyn and the Berwyn Police Department are pleased to partner with J. Sterling Morton West High School to host a free community event entitled, “How Do I know if My Child is using Drugs?” This event will be hosted in the Morton West High School Auditorium, 2400 S. Home Avenue, on Wednesday, October 28th, 2015 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. “With nationwide heroin related overdoses reaching epidemic proportions, Berwyn has chosen to be proactive in our approach to public health,” said Mayor Robert J. Lovero. “This community-wide meeting is an extension of our ongoing ‘Prevention through Education’ public safety series.” Guest speakers at the event will include:

  • Tim Ryan, A Man in Recovery Foundation
  • Detective Rich Wistocki, Cyber Safety Expert
  • Sean Ferguson, Drug Recognition Expert
  • Kyle “The Kid,” A Teen Recovering

The presentations will help parents learn how to use cutting-edge techniques to ensure that their children are safe. Additionally, youth will learn how to empower themselves to rise above and resist peer pressure. Finally, the first 300 attendees will receive a free gift bag containing a free, in-home drug test kit.
