To help ring in the holiday season and make the holidays brighter for local families in need, Chicago-based Bobbi-Toads, an exclusive line of customizable children’s sneakers, donated 500 pairs of new shoes to families in the area on December 9th, in partnership with Our Lady of the Angels Mission in West Humboldt Park. Bobbi-Toads has worked annually with Mission of Our Lady of the Angels to provide new shoes to families, some of whom have never had their own pair of shoes before. “We founded Bobbi-Toads with a mission to give back in all that we do. Working with Mission of Our Lady of the Angels to help bring smiles to children and families is so fulfilling and one of the most rewarding experiences we have the opportunity to be apart of each year,” said Bob Co-Founder and President of Bobbi-Toads. The event brought together 1,200 families and 300 volunteers that served the West Humboldt Park residents. In addition to receiving their new shoes and other clothing, toys and gifts, families were served a holiday lunch. Additional donors included American Airlines, Direct Food Service, Inc., Gate Gourmet, Christ the King (Beverly), St. Mary’s (Lake Forest), NXT Capital, Mary Seat of Wisdom (Park Ridge), Costco (Lake Forest), St. Robert Bellermine (Austin), St. Tarcisius (Chicago), St. Mary of Perpetual Help (Bridgeport), Queen of the Rosary (Elk Grove Village), St. Joe’s (Wilmette), City Tree, Map of Hope Foundation, Sts. Peter and Paul (Naperville), HMS Host and St. Thomas the Apostle (Crystal Lake). To learn more and to get involved, visit https://www.bobbitoads.com/gives-back/.
