Established in 2013, by Starbucks and forward-thinking business leaders, LeadersUp is an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit and talent development accelerator, that works to address the burgeoning opportunity divide and national youth unemployment crisis. LeadersUp provides professional development trainings and career opportunities to connect the untapped potential of opportunity youth, young adults ages 18 to 24, that are out of work and not in school, with employers in need of talent. This unique hiring experience helps eliminate biases towards young people who are skilled but have little work history or unconventional backgrounds by providing resume building and interview tips to help guide them as they meet with employer partners looking to hire on-the-spot for critical entry to mid-skill level roles. The Hiring Fairs offer a variety of activities:

• Hiring Pavilion: On-site job interviews for pre-trained job seekers with local and national employers;

• Career Booths: Sponsored corporate booths focused on employee opportunities and career pathways;

• Workshops and Hands-On Activity Centers featuring Dress for Success; LinkedIn Learning; Managing Your Paycheck; Mock Interviews; a Technology Station.

The LeadersUp Chicago Hiring Fair will take place on August 21 from 8am to 4pm at The Kroc Center, located at 1250 West 119th Street (60643). The Fair is designed for 18-24 year-olds but is open to all ages. To register for the Fair, please visit http://www.bit.ly.com/2018-hiring-fair or text CHICAGOLAND to 64600.
