IlliniCare Health has introduced three new lifestyle benefits for Medicaid members enrolled through the HealthChoice Illinois program. Members can now receive free gym memberships, after-school care assistance, and free school uniforms. Through the addition of the following new benefits, IlliniCare Health aims to better meet the unique needs of its members as well as help remove a barrier that its members encounter in their efforts to achieve better health.

Gym Membership: IlliniCare Health will cover monthly membership fees for qualifying members age 16 and older at participating fitness centers and gyms.

After-school Care: Parents of qualifying members age six to 18 years old can receive assistance with after-school care fees at participating locations, such as Boys & Girls Clubs of America, YMCAs, and more.

School Uniforms: Parents of qualifying members in 1st – 5th grade can receive a total of three vouchers annually with each voucher providing one polo, one pair of pants, and one sweater.

In order to qualify, members must meet certain criteria depending on the desired benefit. Those requirements range from completing a health risk assessment/screening examination and scheduling an annual wellness visit to being vaccinated and measuring one’s body mass index (BMI). All of these combined benefits are intended to help make it easier for IlliniCare Health members to balance healthcare in their daily lives.
