YMCA of Metro Chicago Modifies It’s Out of School Time Programming

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago has adapted it’s out of school time programming to include a new remote learning option to support the changing needs of families and school administrators as they finalize their school plans for the fall and beyond. To help, the YMCA will provide in-person support for students at most of its Y centers in the city and suburbs, as well as at selected schools that have partnered with the Y. Parents can drop off their children for a full or half-day program depending on the type of school plan their school district is offering. Students from kindergarten through grade six will receive in-person support, mentoring, and supervision as they live-stream with their teachers and complete independent work assigned by their teachers. Parents can sign up for a three-day program or a full week, with daily costs ranging between $33 and $52 depending on location. Capacity numbers vary depending on location and are limited to comply with social distancing requirements. Vacancies will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, visit ymcachicago.org/outofschooltime. Financial assistance is available in certain situations because the YMCA believes that a family should never be denied access to our services because of an inability to pay. Parents are advised to call Member Services at 773-905-5115 (M-F: 8 am -7 pm) to learn more.
