National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, Gift of Hope Partner to Educate on Kidney Disease and Organ Donation

The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois is partnering with Gift of Hope and the 17th Ward Office to educate the community about organ donation and the need for more organ donors. The event will include a presentation from a nephrologist (kidney doctor) who will provide information on what kidney disease is and explain what to do to promote kidney health. A patient with kidney disease will share their story of what it is like living with kidney disease. Often referred to as the silent disease, there are no symptoms until stage four and five of renal failure. The nephrologist and patient will be from a dialysis center in the Auburn Gresham community.
