ComEd announced the launch of applications to the Customer Relief Fund on Monday at the Salvation Army Red Shield Center in Englewood. This one-time $10 million Fund will provide timely relief to low- to moderate-income ComEd residential customers and nonprofit organizations amid rising energy costs brought on during the hot summer months. The Fund will provide grants of up to $500 for residential customers and $1,000 for nonprofit organizations with past due balances. Customers are encouraged to apply while funds remain by contacting ComEd’s two administering agencies, the Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) of Chicago and The Salvation Army (TSA), directly. Customers will have options to apply either online, by phone or in person. Visit ComEd.com/Relief to access details. The Fund builds on ComEd’s existing menu of bill support programs, which collectively helped deploy over $133 million last year alone.
