In its 24th year, Bike the Drive will kick off at 6:30 am on Sunday, August 31.  DuSable Lake Shore Drive will close to car traffic at 6:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., from Hollywood Avenue south to 59th Street. Drivers will be able to access the museum campus via 18th Street and can access Navy Pier via Illinois Street. Riders can register before the event online or in person at the event. The event includes a post-ride festival with music, a beer garden, and activities for adults and children at Butler Field in Grant Park from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to begin riding by 8 a.m. in order to enjoy as much of the event as possible. Register at bikethedrive.org. The full route stretches 30 miles and participants are encouraged to ride as little or as much of the course as they would like.
