School may be starting on August 18, but there are still plenty of programs and events tailored for Chicago youth and teens at neighborhood parks. Highlights include organized basketball leagues, skateboarding competitions, Teens in the Park Festival, and much more. TIP Fest (Teens in the Parks) 10th Anniversary
The Chicago Park District is celebrating 10 years of #TIPFest! The Teens in the Parks Festival is a platform for young artists to showcase their creative, performative and musical talents as well as to connect to teen resources. On Saturday, August 30, the event will kick off with local performers followed by the winners of the three TIP Fest auditions at Oakwood Beach, located at 4100 S. Jean-Baptiste Pointe DuSable Lake Shore Drive, to support some of the most talented teens in the city. For details, visit chicagoparkdistrict.com/tip-fest.

Citywide Boxing Showcases: Free Live Boxing on Summer Thursdays
The Chicago Park District Boxing Program will present boxing showcases at parks citywide on select Thursday nights now through October, featuring athletes from the 18-neighborhood park boxing gyms.  Participating boxers are 8 to 25 years old and are enrolled in the Chicago Park District boxing program. For a full list of Chicago Park District Citywide boxing showcase events visit https://bit.ly/BoxingShowcases2025. ‘Go Run: Free, Timed 5K and 1-mile Races
The Chicago Park District and the Chicago Area Runners Association are proud to welcome patrons to the 2025 ‘Go Run Series, which features free, timed 1-mile and 5K races at 12 unique park locations citywide. Patrons of all ages and abilities are invited to move at a pace comfortable for them; strollers, wheelchairs, and other mobility aid equipment are welcome and encouraged.  Registration opens every Friday at 3:00 p.m.  The week prior to each ‘Go Run and closes Friday at 2:00 p.m. the day prior to each ‘Go Run.  Registration is available at chicagoparkdistrict.com/go-run-chicago.
