As the changes for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) looms, if you or someone you know needs food support, explore local resources listed below.
Food Resources:
• Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry: Mobile pantries bring free food and groceries to your community. Unlike traditional food pantries where you go to them, mobile pantry trucks go to you. They usually have a schedule and visit a community once a week or once a month. For more information, visit www.feedingamerica.org.
• New Hope Community Food Pantry: New Hope Community Food Pantry is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing emergency food assistance to individuals and families in need. If you are within their serving zip codes on the Northwest Side of Chicago, visit www.newhopefoodpantry.com.
• Greater Chicago Food Depository: Since 1979, the Greater Chicago Food Depository has proudly provided food for neighbors in need across Chicago and Cook County. Over the years, GCFD has expanded and evolved their programs and services to meet the changing needs of those we serve. If you or someone you know is need of resources, visit www.chicagosfoodbank.org
