
More than 100 community members, local leaders, partners and supporters gathered to celebrate the grand opening of Friend Health’s newest community health center, located at 4700 S. Ashland Ave. The state-of-the-art facility expands primary care, behavioral health and family services for residents across Chicago’s Southwest Side. The event featured remarks from Mayor Brandon Johnson, Alderwoman Jeanette Taylor, Friend Health CEO Wendy Thompson and Sean Harden, Chairman Emeritus of Friend Health’s Board of Directors. Representatives from the offices of State Representative Sonya Harper and State Senator Mattie Hunter were also in attendance. Guests took part in guided tours of the new facility, highlighting expanded clinical space designed to meet rising demand for accessible, affordable care. The celebration also included a community turkey giveaway ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
