Cariño FilmWorks presents two free lecture-based workshops led by the School of Film and Television at Columbia College. Join Chicago’s Missy Hernandez and Emmy-nominated filmmaker and Telly Award–winning director George Ellzey Jr at the Yollocalli Fire Station as they discuss producing short films with limited resources and maneuvering your own production company successfully. These workshops are free and open to the public.

Celebrate the Life of Artist Ray Patlán
Join the Pilsen community on Sunday, November 9th, from 12pm – 3pm as they celebrate the life and legacy of artist Ray Patlán in honor of the newly opened exhibition: Hay cultura en nuestra comunidad: Ray Patlán in Chicago 1968–1975. The exhibition commemorates Patlán, a pivotal figure of the Chicano art movement and the Community Mural Movement. The exhibition will take place at the National Museum of Mexican Art.
