Looking to empower youth, State Representative La Shawn K. Ford, D-Chicago, partnered with Roy Flowers to encourage youth to step into the ring with new free youth boxing classes on Chicago’s West Side. Rep. Ford and Flowers announced the program and provided an overview at a press conference on Monday at Flowers Fitness Club, located at 345 N. Central Ave. in Chicago. “These boxing classes are a great opportunity for kids in our community, with lessons that will last a lifetime,” Ford said. “I appreciate the work Roy Flowers and his team are doing to invest in our area and am excited to partner with him and see more families take advantage of these free classes.” Operated by Roy Flowers of Flowers Fitness Club, this program aims to empower youth through boxing, fitness and teamwork while fostering discipline and confidence in a supportive environment.
