As many across the state struggle with the decision of whether to buy groceries, keep the lights on, or pay the rent, The Salvation Army is there to help. That’s why Jewel-Osco is partnering with The Salvation Army for a special February donation event. Every time a customer checks out at Jewel-Osco, they can make a small donation of $1, $3, or $5 at the register that will help ensure that individuals and families have access to essentials such as food, shelter, and support services year-round. Donations stay local, providing real and immediate relief to neighbors facing hardship. Last year, The Salvation Army in Chicago served more than 250,000 meals, provided more than 50,000 nights of shelter, and offered life-changing support through programs like the Pathway of Hope, which provides targeted services to families with a desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and set them on a path out of intergenerational poverty. The donation event takes place through the end of February.
