CPS Students to Host Health Challenge

This April, UIC’s SNAP-Ed program, The Chicago Partnership for Health Promotions (CPHP) is teaming up with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) Nutrition Support Services and Chef Eric Meredith. On April 28th, CPHP and CPS school Federico Garcia Lorca Elementary will host a health challenge to see who makes the better salad. CPS students will get a chance to see healthy food preparation in action. The competitors are challenges to incorporate the OrganWiseGUys Foods of the Month (FOM), beans in their delicious creations. The kids will learn about the how carrots and garbanzo beans are good for them and tasty too. They will participate in an interactive emulated chopped challenge and share a healthy salad recipe with their parents.
