Several Cicero police officers were honored last Friday at the Cicero Community Center for their bravery in the line of duty and their service to the community. Surrounded by family members and community supporters, President Larry Dominick and Police Superintendent Thomas Boyle presented the Cicero Police Department with merit awards to over 70 police officers. A few of the Cicero police officers honored were part of the May arrest of Victor Martinez, who fled to Mexico after being wanted for the 2016 murder of 22 year-old Julio Servin and the December arrest in New Mexico of Naman Vazquez after the arson of his residence that concealed the homicide death of his roommate. President Dominick spoke about the bravery of the officers honored, “These officers are strong and know what it takes to serve and protect our community.”
