Callers can now reach a criminal defense, domestic relations or personal injury attorney after business hours by calling The Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) of The Chicago Bar Association at 312-554-2001. Callers will reach a recorded message instructing them to push # 2 to reach a Criminal Defense Lawyer, # 3 to reach Domestic Relations, and so forth. When they push the respective number, there will be another recorded message providing them with the telephone number to reach the attorney on call. The LRS is a public service of The Chicago Bar Association and handles thousands of calls each year. The service does not provide free legal services but rather makes referrals to screened, experienced attorneys in over 40 areas of law who charge regular rates for their time and services.
