Humane Society and Insurance Auto Auctions Host ‘Pet Pit Bull Day’

On Saturday, April 16, The Humane Society of the United States’ (HSUS) End Dogfighting™ in Chicago team hosted a “Pet Pit Bull Day” event to inform Humboldt Park residents about pet care and animal cruelty. The event was sponsored by Insurance Auto Auctions’ One Car One Difference™ vehicle donation program, which works with more than 100 charities to help generate much-needed funds for programs, including The Humane Society’s End Dog-fighting in Chicago campaign, that benefits people and animals in need. The event took place at Canine Crews in Chicago and nearly 80 pit bulls received free rabies and distemper vaccines, free dog supplies, and had the opportunity to sign up for free spay and neuter and pit bull obedience training classes. The Humane Society’s End Dog-fighting in Chicago hosts free weekly pit bull training classes in undeserved areas throughout Chicago, including Humboldt Park. Alderman Proco “Joe” Moreno attended in addition to Found Chicago, Mercy for Animals and PAWS Chicago, Chicago Animal Care and Control.
