CCC Helping CPS Students Discover New Career Paths

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - EducationOn May 17, City Colleges of Chicago – Malcolm X College and Olive Harvey College – hosted a networking conference for CPS students organized by Hold Hands Chicago Connect. The event brought together Chicago business leaders and educators to meet with CPS students, introduce them to various career paths and ways they can achieve their professional goals. The conference was attended by an estimated 200 students. The free event held at the Malcolm X College Cultural Center, 1900 W. Van Buren Street, featured several break-out sessions by career interest and colorful exhibits focusing on various industries from Restaurant/Hospitality to Transportation to Real Estate. Hold Hands Chicago CONNECT is an innovative program that creates a network and partnership between schools, companies and the City Colleges of Chicago to offer career exploration and mentoring to students throughout the city.
