Chicago’s Generations of Girls Celebrating Sports, Health, and Wellness

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Health At Girls in the Game, girls of all ages in Chicago are welcome to participate in sports, health and leadership activities to develop into healthy, happy, mature leaders in their communities. Teen programs aim to train teenage program participants to serve as role models for younger girls. The Varsity Squad at Girls in the Game is a group of High School girls from all over Chicago who are eager to motivate and educate younger girls on sports, fitness, nutrition, and leadership. The teens in Varsity Squad all have their own success stories from growing up in Girls in the Game programming and becoming the healthy and mature leaders they are today. To wrap up the end of a successful and healthy year, teens on the Varsity Squad prepared for and led girls in programming through a day of sports, health, and wellness activities in the Girl’s Summit. This year’s summit included girls from La Causa Community Committee, LeClaire-Hearst Park, McGuane Park, Hyde Park Neighborhood Club, Fellowship House, and Casa Central.
