Cristina Joins Telemundo

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local News Telemundo network announced Wednesday the addition of Cristina Saralegui to its exclusive roster of talent. The twelve-time Emmy-award-winning media icon will develop, executive produce, and host a weekly variety program slated to debut later this year. Cristina, a 30-year veteran journalist, was selected byTime Magazine as one of the “25 Most Influential Hispanics in America,” and Home Furnishings News Magazine (HFN) named her one of the “50 Most Influential People in Design and Home Furnishings.” For 21 years Cristina was the host and executive producer of “The Cristina Show” one of the highest rated programs on Spanish-language television, which earned her many accolades including becoming the first Spanish-language television personality to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the first Latina to be inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame, where she joins such television legends as Walter Cronkite, Barbara Walters and Johnny Carson.
