After weeks of anticipation, Nuestro Queso’s ‘Cocina, Saborea y ¡Gana!’ (Create, Dazzle and Win) recipe contest came to a great conclusion when Jonatan Romero’s tastefully simple gourmet dish of cheese-filled chicken and herbs was declared the 1st place winner. The final cook-off was held on Monday, May 16th at St. Augustine College’s main campus and found four finalists, out of dozens of entries submitted between March and May, preparing their best recipe to be sampled by a panel of six distinguished judges. Adrian Romero (2nd place), Yadira Lara (3rd place), Victoria Martinez (4th place) and Jonatan Romero prepared their recipes at an event held in the historic Charles Chaplin Auditorium in St. Augustine’s main campus in Chicago attended by many supporters, students and media.
