Berwyn Apprehends a Federal Fugitive

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local News Under the direction of Deputy Police Chief Joseph Drury, the Berwyn Police Department Investigative Division has taken into custody 31-year old Noel Cano of the 2100 block of Grove Avenue, Berwyn, IL. Cano was wanted in reference to an active outstanding Federal Arrest Warrant for Dangerous Drugs and Escape from a Federal Prison Camp in Terre Haute, IN.

On June 06, 2011 in the early afternoon, as part of a continuing investigation, the Berwyn Police Department received information that Cano was residing for an extended period of time at a residence in the 2100 block of Grove Avenue Berwyn, IL. Furthermore, the Berwyn Police Department had learned that Cano had an active outstanding Federal Arrest Warrant for Dangerous Drugs and Escape from a Federal Prison Camp approximately 10 years ago in Terre Haute, IN. Acting on this information, the Berwyn Police Department proceeded to the location and took Cano into custody outside of his residence without incident. Deputy Chief Drury would like to reiterate to Berwyn residents that the City of Berwyn Police Department is committed to ridding the community of the criminal element and has specialized proactive police enforcement units in all areas in Berwyn where gang members are known to congregate.
