Fiestas Puertorriqueñas Kicks-Off Celebration

 Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local News Fiestas Puertorriqueñas officially kicked-off its 28th year on Tuesday, June 14 with a ribbon cutting ceremony and live performance from Las Boricuas y Su Banda. As a long-standing cultural presence, Fiestas Puertorriqueñas will feature international and local singers, the largest amusement park in the city, art and craft vendors and a plethora of food vendors this side of the Caribbean. “I’m really excited for the whole city of Chicago to celebrate with us,” said Angel ‘Tito’ Medina, president of the Puerto Rican Parade Committee.
