Teatro Vista’s 21st Birthday Benefit Fiesta

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local NewsTeatro Vista, Chicago’s largest non-profit Equity Latino theater company, invites its friends, fans and supporters to help celebrate the company’s 21st anniversary at Teatro Vista’s 21st Birthday Fiesta, Saturday, July 30, 6:30 pm to 10 pm at the National Museum of Mexican Art, 1852 W. 19th Street, in the heart of Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. Birthday partiers can look forward to a fun evening of food, drinks, strolling through exhibits at the museum, a raffle, music, dancing, and the centerpiece of the night: a sneak-peek preview of the plays that will be part of Teatro Vista’s upcoming 2011-2012 season. “Over the last 20 years, Teatro Vista has grown to be one of Chicago’s most vibrant performing arts organizations,” said Eddie Torres, executive artistic director, Teatro Vista. “Last season alone, we took New York by storm with resident writer Kristoffer Diaz’ The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, racking up a Pulitzer Prize nomination and several major awards along the way. Other memorable moments include the Arts and Business Council of Chicago naming Teatro Vista one of the city’s cultural leaders and the launch of a three-year producing partnership with the Goodman Theatre with our first fully commissioned play, Tanya Saracho’s El Nogalar.”
