Verizon Wireless Searches for the Next ‘Nueva Latina’

The award will honor Latinas who embrace diversity, integrity and creativity while reaching new levels of achievement in their areas of expertise. Nominations may be submitted online now through August 19 by visiting www.verizonnuevalatina.com.

Nueva Latinas continue to receive more recognition for their unique contributions to corporate America and the overall business economy. Recent surveys indicate Latinas are the fastest-growing segment of small business owners, starting businesses at a rate as high as six times the national average. Verizon Wireless will award $1,500 and a new 4G LTE Smartphone to one Latina from each of the categories of business, technology and community service. A $1,500 grant will also be made to the non-profit organization associated with the community service category winner. Three semi-finalists will be selected by the Honorary Committee of the 7th annual Vive La Hispanidad. The winner in each category will be announced at the event on October 14, 2011.
