With celebration season well underway, how about a tasty treat that is cool, refreshing and sweet? Did I mention it’s better for you than other ice cream treats, too? Get inspired to include a fruit and/or vegetable at every eating occasion, from breakfast to dinner, appetizer to dessert. It’s easier and more delicious than you think.

Mango Sherbet

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: several hours
Amount: 5 (1/2 cup) servings

Ingredients:
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup Jewel® granulated sugar
1 (16 ounce) package Jewel® frozen mango chunks
1/2 cup Jewel® half-and-half

Directions:

1. In small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add sugar and stir. When sugar completely dissolves, remove from heat; cool.

2. In food processor or blender, combine mangos, half-and-half and simple syrup. Process until smooth.

3. Transfer to a freezer safe container with cover. Freeze several hours or overnight.
