Little Village Community Council kicked off the back-to-school season with their annual “Back to School Blocky Party” held on Saturday, Aug. 6. More than a 1,000 eager families gathered together to receive school supplies and tips on how to have a successful school year. As this year’s sponsor, Lawndale Bilingual Newspaper was on site to hand out important school-related information and supplies. Aside, from school activities, children had a chance to practice their equestrian skills riding ponies during the sunny afternoon. Now in its fifth year, President of Little Village Community Council August Sallas hopes to continue in its mission to make sure students stay on track and well-prepared.
