Cook Country Commissioner Jeff Tobolski will host the Silver Star Veterans of the 16th District on Friday, Aug. 12, who have been wounding during their service in Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, and Korea. Attendance is expected to be between 250-300 people. The event will be held at The McCook Athletic Exposition Center, 4750 S. Vernon Avenue in McCook, Illinois. Also in attendance will be Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka, Congressman Dan Lipinski and Mike Quigley, Senators Steve Landek and Martin Sandoval, Representatives Lisa Hernandez and Mike Zalewski as well as Cook County Commissioners John Daley, Liz Gorman, Pete Silvestri, and Edwin Reyes.
