‘40 Days of Blessing’ Wraps Up

Thousands of Chicagoans from every corner of the city turned out to Hanson Park Saturday and Sunday, September 17th and 18th to celebrate “Bless Fest 2011,” the culmination of “40 Days of Blessing.” Pastor Ray Berryhill and Evangel World Outreach Center (EWOC) began their outreach ministry on August 10th with a vow to have his entire congregation and those of partnering churches to “bless someone with random acts of kindness” each day for 40 days. Pastor Berryhill says his mission was to bring people closer to Christ by having them to do what Jesus did—show compassion and enrich others while expecting nothing in return.

Joining Pastor Berryhill at “Bless Fest” 2011 at Hanson Park was Secretary of State Jesse White, whose Jesse White Tumblers entertained the crowd. Also on hand were Congressman Danny Davis, (7th District), State Representative Derrick Smith (10th District), Aldermen Deborah Graham, (29th Ward) and Emma Mitts (37th Ward) and Commissioner Michael Cabonargi (2nd District).
