As part of a new partnership to help Latino families get their students into college and beyond, Allstate and New Futuro hosted an educational workshop in the Humboldt Park Field House this past Saturday, Sept. 17. After finishing the college prep-workshop, local student Enrique Delgado was awarded a $1,000 scholarship to help fulfill his higher education dreams. Delgado is a student at Glenbard West High School and hopes to attend UIC. His future aspiration is to become a police officer to help his community become a safer and better place to live. Allstate and New Futuro will be holding the next college-prep workshop this Saturday, September 24 at the Round Lake Beach and Civic Center.
