Chicago Career Tech Extends Application

 Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - EducationDue to popular demand, Chicago Career Tech (CCT) is extending the application period for the fourth session of its four- to six-month, six-day-a-week job retraining program for unemployed emerging- and middle-class Chicago residents. Applications will now continue to be available exclusively online at www.chicagocareertech.com through Friday, September 9 at 5pm. The CCT program features classroom training, hands-on learning with a business or nonprofit organization, and career and professional development services through Challenger, Gray & Christmas. Chicago Career Tech’s upcoming class session is expected to include up to 300 participants. To be eligible for the program, potential participants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • City of Chicago resident
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or earned GED
  • Unemployed (after January 1, 2008), with previous annual income of $25,000 to $80,000
  • Eligible to collect or have exhausted unemployment insurance benefits in Illinois
  • Not currently enrolled in another job training program
