Community Savings Bank Hosts ‘Back to School’ Event

Winning numbers are being called during raffle drawings held at Community Savings Bank during its annual “Back to School” days celebration. The event was held before the start of school and included an essay contest for kids under 12 years of age.

Community Savings Bank held its annual “Back to School” days celebration in its main lobby before the start of school for kids age 12 and under. Children were invited to enter an essay contest to tell, “Why is saving money important.” Contestants were also asked to draw a picture of their financial goal. Children 5 to 8 years-old drew a picture and wrote one to five sentences. Children 9 to 12 years-old drew a picture and wrote one paragraph.

Marisol Gaytan, Community Outreach Officer said: “Many of the children who entered the contest showed wonderful creativity. We awarded prizes to three kids in each age group. Winners received a backpack full of school supplies and a Target gift card ahead of the start of the school year. Over 60 kids attended the celebration.
