Instituto del Progreso Latino Opens New Facility

Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Baxter International Chairman and CEO, Robert L. Parkinson, Jr., community leaders and several elected officials gathered with parents, students and teachers to celebrate the grand opening of Instituto del Progreso Latino’s new 100,000 square-foot facility in the heart of Chicago on Thursday, Sept. 22. The new facility will house the Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy — Chicago’s first health science career charter school aiming to address the profound shortage of Latinos and other urban youth in Illinois’ health care field by providing a quality education option that leads directly to jobs.
