Pilsen Opens New Garden for Residents

The Field Museum, El Hogar Del Nino, Casa Michoacán and P.E.R.R.O have created the Mary Zepeda Native Garden, located at 1423 West 17th Street. With the permission of the owner, the site will enable the children (15 months to five years) of El Hogar to play outdoors in a nature-based setting. The garden will also serve as a site where Pilsen residents can learn about everything from butterflies to climate change. It will also be a place for workshops about environmentally friendly practices.
