City Year Corps Member Vow to Keep Students on Track

On Friday, Oct. 7 145 City Year Corps Members started a year of full time service in 16 schools across Chicago, serving nearly 250,000 hours to students collectively. Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle was also in attendance to deliver the keynote address in Wrigley Square, in Chicago’s Millennium Park. Other attendees included Jill Heise, chair, SERVE IL State Commissioner, Steve Solomon, president of Exelon Foundation, and Amabel Crawford, principal of Harvard School o Excellence.
