Black Ensemble Theater Presents ‘The Jackie Wilson Story’

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local NewsThe Black Ensemble Theater is thrilled to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center with the remounting of, “The Jackie Wilson Story,” the contagious production that chronicles the rise and fall of the admired musician and performer. The show, starring Kelvin Roston Jr. as Jackie Wilson, will include many of Wilson’s hits such as (Your Love Keeps Liftin’ Me) Higher & Higher, To Be Loved, Danny Boy and Doggin’ Me Around. The Grand Opening will feature a weekend of celebrations to mark the momentous occasion for the Black Ensemble Theater. “The Jackie Wilson Story” will be the first show to open in the Cultural Center’s 299-seat main stage theater. You can catch the opening on Friday, Nov. 18 at the Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center, 4450 N. Clark at 3pm.
