Cicero Honors Morton High school Illinois State Soccer Champions

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - EducationThe Morton High school Boys Mustang Soccer team was saluted Tuesday at a meeting of the Town of Cicero board for their victory in winning the IHSA Class 3A state championship. This is the high school’s first soccer championship victory. Town President Larry Dominick and the members of the Town of Cicero board honored the team members, coaches and Morton High school officials including Supt. Mike Kuzniewski and Board Chairman Jeff Pesek. “We are very proud of their achievements and their teamwork,” Kuzniewski told the board as the entire team cheered in the audience.

“I want to thank President Dominick and the town trustees and everyone in the community for supporting us. It happened so quickly and it just grew and we are very excited at the team’s achievements.” Kuzniewski said that more than 1,700 fans attended their final game in which they shut-out Naperville Central 1 – 0 on Saturday, Nov. 5.
