On December 20, 2011 Berwyn police officers responded to the 6900 block of 29th Pl. for a report of an individual spray painting graffiti on a garage. Prior to police arrival, the offender fled the scene and was later apprehended in the 2900 block of Harlem Ave along with the spray paint can used to commit the crime. Further investigation by the Berwyn Police determined that 28 year-old Shenon Eades, a self admitted gang member, was marking territory with spray paint that he obtained from previous garage burglaries. Subsequently, Eades was charged with seven counts of criminal defacement to property and sentenced to 24 days in the Cook County Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to all counts in court on December 28, 2011.
