Chicago’s Cultural Plan Seeks Public Engagement

The plan will create a framework to guide the city’s future cultural and economic growth. The 2012 Chicago Cultural Plan will be the centerpiece to continue to elevate the City as a global destination for creativity, innovation and excellence in the arts.

Public engagement will play a key role in shaping Chicago’s cultural future. In October 2011, the City issued a request for proposals to develop and produce the 2012 Chicago Cultural Plan. Public community meetings will be held throughout the city during the first quarter of 2012. In the coming months, DCASE will also launch an interactive new website, www.chicagoculturalplan2012.org, where Chicagoans can submit ideas and participate in a discussion about the city’s cultural future. The complete 2012 Chicago Cultural Plan is scheduled to be released in May 2012.
