Cicero Schools Receive Kellogg’s Grant

 Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - EducationMorton Freshman Center and Morton East High School were awarded a Share Your Breakfast grant by Kellogg’s and Action for Healthy Kids for the 2011-2012 school year. Morton Freshman Center and Morton East High School were chosen as two of the nearly 100 schools nationwide to support innovative programs to increase school breakfast participation. The grant will provide a free breakfast to all students to enjoy while at school. Share Your Breakfast grants provide funding directly to schools through Action for Healthy Kids the nation’s leading nonprofit and largest volunteer network fighting childhood obesity and undernourishment. Studies show breakfast can help kids improve their academic performance –improving behavior, reducing absences and tardiness and increasing focus and physical performance.
