Town of Cicero Detectives received approval from the Cook County States Attorneys Office to charge gang member Daniel Leanos. Leanos was charged with First Degree Murder for the death of victim Henry Martinez.

Martinez was a self admitted gang member from Chicago who was on parole. Leanos will be in bond court on Monday morning in Maywood at the Maybrook Court House. President Larry Dominick praised the fast work of the Cicero Police in apprehending a suspect in the murder of Henry Martinez. Until the Martinez murder, the Town of Cicero had no prior street gang related murders in nearly 18 months.

“We have a zero tolerance for street gang activity and will track them down when they commit crimes. We work hard to prevent these crimes but when they do occur we have a Police Department that is among the best in fighting street gang violence,” said Town President Larry Dominick.
