UNO Receives U.S. Soccer Foundation Grant

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - EducationThe U.S. Soccer Foundation has awarded a $100,000 grant to the United Neighborhood Organization to support construction of a new soccer field for the UNO Soccer Academy School on Chicago’s Southwest Side.

On February 3, 2012 the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the Major Charitable Arm of Soccer in the United States, awarded sixty grants totaling $2.4 million to non-profit organizations serving youth in urban, underserved areas in twenty states across the nation. Through the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s 2012 Annual Grants program, the Foundation strives to continue its mission of enhancing and growing the sport of soccer as well as improving the well-being of children in underserved areas.

UNO operates a network of 11 charter schools with an enrollment of 5,384 students. UNO Soccer Academy School is located at 5050 S. Homan Ave.
