The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lawrence Benito as the new Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director as Joshua Hoyt transitions to the role of Chief Strategy Executive.

Since joining ICIRR in 2002, Lawrence Benito has been an integral part of the Senior Management team. In his new role as ICIRR’s CEO, he will be responsible for leading all facets of the organization. Lawrence has a proven executive track record and over 20 years of working with diverse communities.

Additionally, Joshua Hoyt will now be spearheading the organization’s expansion efforts in the Midwest and ensuring that ICIRR remains on a national stage by working with ICIRR’s national partners – Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM) and Reform Immigration for America. In accepting this appointment, Lawrence Benito said that he vows to continue to work to ensure that ICIRR remains at the forefront of immigration reform and a national leader in defending the rights of all immigrants.
