Raul Montes, Jr.: State Senator Candidate for 12th District

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - BusinessActivist Raul Montes Jr. is no novice when it comes to orchestrating rallies. Montes proved instrumental in 2009 by obtaining funding to repair the 31st street bridge, a bridge that separates Chicago and the Town of Cicero. “It was tough work, but it was an issue that was long overdue,” said Montes. Montes is using his tenacious skills once more as he runs for State Senator of the 12th District. “So much needs to be done in our communities. Elected officials have to work together for the betterment of our communities and if elected I will vow to make sure we are all on the same page.” No stranger to controversy, Montes has unabashedly voiced his discontent with elected officials in the past time. This time, Montes wants his message for reform to come across loud and clear. “Transparency is key,” said Montes. “People need to know what I stand for and how reform is being done in our communities. If elected, transparency will be a key element in my administration.” This week, Montes visited our office to highlight what will be on his agenda.
